FAQ ABOUT CBD (Cannabidiol)

FAQ ABOUT CBD (Cannabidiol)

CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is one of the many compounds extracted from the cannabis sativa plant. You cannot get high from applying CBD oil; however it has several medicinal benefits, much like essential oils. The human body has an endo-cannabinoid system, which means we have receptors all over our body that were made to communicate directly with the cannabinoid compounds extracted from the plant.

Our skincare standards have raised and now there is a skincare collection that meets the bar. Experience anti-aging, anti-acne, anti-inflammation, anti-anxiety & so much more with select CBD-infused products.

Why is CBD great for anti-aging?

CBD contains antioxidant properties that slow the visible signs of aging, such as improving skin’s elasticity, reducing wrinkles and skin dullness.

Why is CBD great for skin conditions?

Our skin has cannabinoid receptors that reduce excess skin cell growth, which is a common problem for those experiencing eczema/psoriasis/extreme dry/itchy skin. The cannabinoids in CBD oil communicate with the endo-cannabinoids in our brain, turning off the signals that transmit from the brain to the nerve endings in our skin, that indicate itching.

Why is CBD great for acne prevention?

Excess sebum production is one of the main causes for acne. CBD is known to reduce extra sebum production and boost elasticity to help prevent breakouts and scarring.

Why is CBD great for diaper rash?

As we know, CBD oil contains anti-inflammatory properties and it works with the CB1 receptors (located in the body’s immune system), which are in charge of your skin cells & nerve fibres. A diaper rash is an immune response that causes inflammation. Applying CBD to the rash will restore natural balance and protect baby’s skin by reducing chances of future diaper rash.

Will I get high from using CBD?

When medicated (CBD, THC, etc.) topicals are applied to our skin, they do not enter the bloodstream; they bind to and activate our endo-cannabinoid receptors. You cannot get high from applying CBD oil topically. The high effect that one experiences when using marijuana is produced by THC; not CBD. They are two completely different components of the cannabis sativa plant. There are trace (very small quantity – too small to measure) amounts of THC in our CBD oil.

Are there any side effects?

CBD typically affects those who are ingesting rather than using topically. Discontinue use if allergic reaction occurs.

Using CBD while pregnant/breastfeeding

If we were discussing products that you ingest, that would call for a different conversation but since these oils are being applied to the skin barrier, as a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, there are no risks to your/baby’s health.

CBD has many benefits including but not limited to:

  • Natural pain relief
  • Antioxidant
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Alleviates stress & anxiety
  • Not addictive
  • Non-psychoactive
